Our Story
Lhumi was founded by Melina– a woman, wife and mother, whose purpose is to live life to the fullest with joy, and well being.
Inspired by the name given to her, Lhumi (light of life), Melina’s goal is to bring the warmth, soulfulness and magic of jewelry to everyone. This positive ethos is reflected in every Lhumi piece.
Jewelry is her passion. It evokes memories, like the time when she once told her mother, “One day, I will buy all the jewelry [I want]”, Lhumi is her dream come true.
Through her own difficulties and challenges, Melina knows that each one of us can rise above to radiate our own inner light in the darkness.
Each gem shines radiantly while looking at it from a different angle. This is a great metaphor for life. Whenever we look at our situation from a different angle, we see things in a new light, a brand new perspective.

Our pieces are crafted by the finest materials using ethically gemstones/diamonds, and ethically and /or recycled sourced metals.
All of our jewelry is long lasting and non-allergenic because they’re free of base metals, such as nickel and brass. We have sky-high standards, and guarantee that each piece is created with the finest quality materials and designed with love.
Simply the Best 14K Gold
Across the board, our solid gold jewelry is made with 14K gold to last long - just like your legacy. Anything above 14K, such as 18K or 24K, will be softer and can easily scratch with everyday wear and tear. All of our fold pieces are stamped with "14K or "585", which are industry classification standards.
CARE: Keep your gold shinning by using Lhumi's Magic Cloth and store in the included pouch when not in use.
Sparkling Sterling Silver
Our silver jewelry is free of allergenic metals including nickel, brass or any cheap fast fashion. We coat our silver pieces in rhodium, which is highly reflective and resistant to corrosion. Rhodium is considered the rarest and most valuable of all the precious metals.
Our silver jewelry is stamped with ‘925’ in line with industry standards. ‘925’ sterling silver is considered better than pure silver as natural silver is soft and less stable.
CARE: Avoid water as much as possible because it causes silver to oxidize. Simply clean your silver jewelry with Lhumi’s Magic Cloth and store it in the included pouch. For more info, read our blog article on caring for your silver jewelry.
Vermeil Gold for Durability
Vermeil is a layer of solid gold forged on sterling silver for more durability. (Hey, it’s not the same as gold plating.)
This gives you the look and feel of fine gold at a fraction of the cost. Our vermeil is graded at 14k or 18k with a thickness of 2.5-3.0 microns, as required by the Federal Trade Commission. Each of our vermeil pieces are stamped with ‘925.’
CARE: Avoid water as much as possible. Gently clean your jewelry with Lhumi’s Magic Cloth and store in the included pouch.
Responsibly Sourced
Our diamonds and gemstones are ‘conflict free’ and responsibly sourced. We work with suppliers who promote industry responsibility and integrity in the diamond and gems value chain. We only use diamonds certified through the Kimberly Process and graded by standards of the World Diamond Council System of Warranties.
Our precious and semi-precious gemstones are AAA+ grade– rare and very valuable. The AAA grade is assigned to gemstones that are close to perfect. We choose meaningful gemstones that have some variation in color, that are clean and well cut.
CARE: Keep your gemstones shining brightly with regular cleaning in warm water. Use a a soft brush if necessary.

Lhumiers expect their jewelry to be made responsibly, with respect for the rights of humans and our planet. We work with manufacturers that have the reputation, certification and methods of accountability in place and are members of the Responsible Jewellery Council.
